On Thursday evening, Communications Technology Professionals held an event at the Omni Interlocken. During the event, several organizations and individuals were recognized; in this post, I will provide additional information about two of those organizations.
The University of Colorado has programs in the law, engineering and business schools that focus on educating students of all levels for entrepreneurial careers. Silicon Flatirons is the center for law, technology and entrepreneurship and is focused on students in the Colorado Law program. E-Ship is yet another entrepreneurial program focused on preparing engineering students for both technical and entrepreneurial careers. Lastly, the Deming Center in the Leeds School of Business helps students become entrepreneurial thinkers who are prepared to either create their own companies or contribute to existing companies. Each of these centers molds students for careers at companies like Zayo and Envysion, and I am looking forward to further developing our relationship with the University.
Another organization that was featured was Colorado UpLift. For over 25 years of operation, UpLift has remained focused on its mission empowering urban youth to lead successful lives emphasizing character, education, and attitude. Colorado UpLift is working with over 3,000 youth in areas where the population is primarily comprised of single parent families living in low-income housing. At the event Thursday evening, two Colorado UpLift students, Marray Napue and Arayna Duran, attended and were just a couple examples of the difference the organization has made over the past 25 years. Marray Napue and Arayna Duran are doing very well in school. We look forward to watching them grow and achieve educational success to an even higher degree.
Whether you were with us or not this past Thursday, I hope you consider supporting Colorado Uplift and the entrepreneur programs at University of Colorado. Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have questions.
